План – конспект уроку №33
Тема: Стосунки в сім’ї (Family Relationships).

Підтема: Дружна сім’я – запорука взаєморозуміння й благополуччя в родині.



Мета: - повторити лексичний матеріал, вправляти учнів в аудіюванні та розмовному мовленні; практикувати знайомі слова у нових реченнях та фразах; вчити перекладу слів виходячи зі змісту тексту (вгадувати);

Тип уроку: Урок застосування знань та вмінь.

Обладнання: підручник «English» за 11 клас, завдання на картках, презентація на мультимедія, відеосюжети.
Хід уроку (Procedure)

І. Організаційний момент (Introduction).

Teacher: Good morning, students! I’m glad to see you. I hope you’re fine, are not you? Who is absent today? Why? What is the weather like today? Do you like today’s weather?



ІІ. Мотивація (Brainstorming).

1) T: As you know we continue to learn the topic “Family Relationships”. I propose you to recollect the words you have learnt at our last lessons. I want you to draw a basket in your copy-books (just on a half of page). Well, now I give you 2 minutes to fill the basket with the words. Time’s going on! – Check up. (Students name 1 word step by step and sketch the named words. The best result is some words left.)

2) T: Well, I invite 4 students to the blackboard. I give you puzzles and you must make them up.

3) T: While they are working you will answer my question:



What does the word «family» mean for you?

S1: It means love because all the members of the family love each other.

S2: It means grandparents who care a lot about us.

S3: It means a shelter. In the time of trouble they always support and help me.

S4: It means happiness because all the members of the family try to make the others happy.

S5: It means success. Good family relations are the first step to be successful in life.

4) T: Let us see what the boys wrote for us. Look, these are proverbs. Read and translate them:


  • Like father, like son.

  • To tell tales out of school.

  • The rotten apple injures its neighbours.

  • A tree is known by its fruit.

ІІІ. Основна частина (Main Part).

  1. T: Well done. And now we have to check up your hometask. What was it?

S1: To write a story about our families, relations and traditions.

T: Is anybody volunteer?

(Students’ answers.)

T: Have you any questions to your classmates? Well, I have:



  • Where does your father (mother) work?

  • How old is your brother (sister)?

  • Do you live with your grandparents?

  • What is your best family holiday?

(Students’ answers.)

  1. T: Look at the screen, please. This is the epigraph to our lesson. I shall read it myself: “Honor thy father and thy mother: that the days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee”.Holy Bible (The 10 Commandments)

T: I want you to open your copy-books and write down today’s date, Classwork and epigraph. We’ll be back to it at the end of our lesson.



  1. T: And now we shall speak about families. There are no similar families at all, they all are different. But all of us (you, me, your parents) want to have a good family, that means to have good relations between each other. And now we shall watch a short film and then we’ll try to discuss it. Look.

T: Did you understand what this film was about? (Translation) Let’s describe the discipline in the families:






  • Loving and Restrictive. The children take easily the rules of society.

  • Loving and Permissive. The children are cherished, wanted and valued.

  • Unloving and Permissive. Lack of love and care. The children find themselves unsuccessfully in employment and marriage.

  • Unloving and Restrictive. The parents do not care of children. And they are engaged into dangerous and criminal behavior.

T: So, tell me which of these 4 categories is the best? the worst one?

S1: The best is the first category and the worst is the last one.

T: I want to get information about your family discipline. Look at the screen and read the questions on it and answer them honestly.

Questions:


  • Do your parents trust you?

  • Do you talk back to your parents?

  • Are you often grounded?

  • Do you always obey your parents?

  • Are your parents often nervous?

  • Do they keep their promises? And what about you?

  • Do you often slam the door and go to your room?

  • Can you rely on your parents?

  • Can they rely on you?

  1. T: And the last point I want to know about you is:




What are the problems in your family to argue about?

S1: school and marks.

S2: staying out late.

S3: pocket money.

S4: listening to music too loudly.

S5: clothes, friends.

S6: watching TV and playing computer games.


  1. T: As you know in a happy family all its members have their rights and duties. And now I want to speak about your rights and duties in your families. What are your rights? – to have clothes, food, rest, free time, friends etc. And what about your duties? They are: to help your parents about the house, for example, cleaning the house, shopping, preparing food, washing up, looking after little children (your brothers and sisters). And of course make good marks, because your education is your future job and material position. I’d like you to understand: your parents are very busy, they have no much time for you and housework, they need your help and your understanding. They most of all want to rely on you, they wish you to be their friends. And although you have already grown up they love you with all their hearts like little babies. And you always will be such little kids for them as you were in your childhood.

I propose you to watch one more film and discuss it.

T: Remember, students: Honor your father and your mother just because they love you. I also want to retell the words from the second film: The greatest gift your parents ever gave you is the gift of love.

І V. Закріплення вивченого. Підсумок (Summing-up).

1) T: Fill in the gaps in the sentences given below.



  • The behavior of teenagers is …(rebellious)

  • If you don’t obey your parents rows are …(inevitable)

  • My younger brother is an … (adolescent). His character is hard.

  • A lot of parents are … (violent). They often assault their children. It is possible to become a …(victim) in the affair.

  • You must be grounded because your …(behaviour) is wrong.

  • We have a lot of …(posters) in our room. My parents don’t like them.

2) T: Check up, please, all new words you have written into your vocabularies.

- Restrictive, permissive, to be cherished, to be valued, lack of, unsuccessfully, to be engaged, to keep promises, to slam the door, generous, to be grown up.

3) T: I propose you to read statements which you should remember for all your life:

If there is right in the soul,

There is beauty in the person.

If there is beauty in the person,

There will be harmony in the home.

If there is harmony in the home,

There will be order in the nation.

If there is order in the nation,

There will be peace in the world.

V. Домашнє завдання (Home Assignment).

T: I want you to write a composition on the topic “The Ideal Family”. Describe what kind of family it is in your opinion. Nearly 10-12 sentences.

Привітання. Перевірка наявності учнів на уроці.

1) Розминка (лексичний матеріал).

2) Робота біля дошки.

4) Перевірка роботи біля дошки. Прислів’я:

1) Перевірка домашнього завдання.

5) Права та обов’язки членів сім’ї, у тому числі й самих учнів.

Підсумок бесіди: Шануй батька та матір свою просто тільки тому, що вони тебе люблять.



ІV. Закріплення вивченого. Підсумок (Summing-up).

1) Доповнити речення (вправа).

2) Закріпити отриману інформацію, прочитавши вислів у підручнику на стор.88.

3) Виставлення та коментування оцінок.



V. Домашнє завдання (Home Assignment).

Написати невеликий твір на тему «Ідеальна сім’я: яка вона?»
